Description
This is a street scene in Venice, Italy. There were actually grape vines connected from the building on the left to the building on the right...but I left them out.

Beautiful street scene, Sharon; I want to go there today! Color palette is stunning, the detail in the buildings is wonderful, and the perspective makes you think you are there. Voted!

Sharon, Venice Italy Street, is a lovely watercolor. Your pallet is warm and your edges are crisp. The vanishing point is expertly done drawing the eye down the street with the inevetability of gravitic attraction. The shifting light in shadow and reflected sunshine is delightful and allows us a leisurely and pleasant exploration of these well-kept centuries old facades. Your treatment of the sky gives us a sense of a sleepy afternoon when the streets might easily be nearly empty. Leaving out the grape-vines-- or any other superfluous items-- is a thing that only real masters of an art know to do and it holds true of all artists- whether musician, poet, photographer, painter, sculptor, whatever. Crisp edges and no muddied areas whatsoever. This piece is very well done; an exemplary work in water-color. F, V, L
