Recalling memories from our youth or early days is always a wonderful experience, at least the good ones, like this one! I sense the excitement and fun you had as the result of your hard work. Beautifully done for colors and composition, too. I love diagonal lines, which add interest and sometimes drama. Very pleasing work and gets my vote and fave today.

Sharon Mick replied:

Thank you Lenore you are very kind.

Artist's Description

Picking apples on the farm brings back wonderful memories. One of our jobs as children was to help with the fall harvest. Once picked, we would take the apples to market with Dad in his Blue Chevy Pickup. For me market day was the best day of the year. After all, we would be loaded down with money! Daddy would tease us all day about going to Mr. Smiths country store. As kids, It would be so very exciting. Simply put, it meant stopping by the corner county store where we would receive our favorite penny candy from Mr. Smith. Hurrah for APPLES!

You may recall those art advertisements that were in the guise of a contest. Draw this dog and submit it to our panel of artists and see if you qualify. Of course, every submission was a winner if you could afford the huge price tag to enroll in their correspondence school. Well, my family couldn't afford it so my effort to be an artist was put on the shelf, but not my desire. In the 80's my husband and I had a...
